Yesterday was Chloe's first day of school! Can you believe it? She is growing up so quick! Lisa and I were kinda worried about how she would do since she tends to be shy around new people but she did really well.
We're leaving today to go to L.A. for an inner-city missions trip. We'll be working through The Dream Center and will be assisting them in their daily outreach to the homeless and hurting of Los Angeles. We'll also get to go to the historic Angelus Temple and experience the awesome worship ministry of Press Play.
Keep us in prayer for this week. This will be an eye-opening time of ministry and service for all of us. We'll be living out what Jesus told us when He said to "love the least of these."
I doubt that I'll be able to get to a computer to update while I'm there so I'll try to give a full update and maybe a few pictures when we get back.
I love this video of the song "World on Fire" by Sarah McLachlan. What an incredible message of how much good can be done if we start putting our money where it can make a difference. Tell me what you think of it.
It's been a busy couple of weeks! Last week we had our 29:11 Summer Camp at Kindlers and had an awesome time! God blessed us with good weather so we were able to get lots of boating, tubing and jet-skiing in. I had fun giving crazy rides on the Jet Ski for anyone who was daring enough to ride with me - although my ears are still ringing from some of the girls who wouldn't stop screaming (you know who you are).
Then yesterday we went to Cedar Point with the youth. It was forecasted to rain in the morning but again God blessed us with awesome weather. There weren't that many people so the waits really weren't that bad either. I would have to say my favorite all-around roller coaster was the Millennium Force with the Raptor coming in a very close second. As far as all-out thrills go, the Top Thrill Dragster was AMAZING! The feeling of accelerating from 0-120 miles-per-hour in 4 seconds is almost heart-stopping. We waited in line for over an hour for a ride that was over in 20 seconds but it was well worth it!
Next weekend is Western Night at 29:11! I'm looking forward to throwing on a cowboy hat and watching everyone learn to square dance! Should be fun!
